Tons of Fun with the Bratz TV Show

For the ever-growing number of girls across the country who are becoming hooked on the Bratz phenomenon, there is something to be excited about hitting televisions everywhere: the Bratz TV show! You heard right, the Bratz have their very own weekly cartoon! The girls with the passion for fashion have gone far beyond their doll roots with the Bratz TV show, taking the sassy characters that began in the toy lines and fleshing them out into much more real, believable characters that the young girls who have come to love the Bratz brand can relate to.

The Bratz TV show began in 2005, and stars the four original members of the Bratz pack, Cloe, Jade, Yasmin, and Sasha. The computer-animated series is directed by 4Kids, the company that has been involved with a number of popular children's shows, including the Winx Club, and the Cramp Twins. They have remade series based on cartoons from the 1980's, such as the Teenaged Mutant Ninja Turtles, G.I. Joe, and the Crash Dummies. 4Kids has also brought a number of Japanese cartoons to American audiences, such as Shaman King, Pokemon, and Yu Gi Oh. This strong base of past successes has allowed 4Kids to tackle the ambitious license that is the Bratz dolls.

The show follows the lives of the Bratz girls as they make their way through high school, averting social and fashion crises in droves. Of course, as the Bratz TV show must stay true to the style of the Bratz dolls, which takes every aspect of any setting to new levels of fashion and sassy chic, these girls do not just live normal lives. They are also the editorial staff of Bratz Magazine, a hot teen magazine.

Cloe is the leader, if one is to be designated, of the Bratz pack, as well as the beauty editor of Bratz magazine. Between keeping up with fashion trends, high school, and writing her "Ask Cloe" column, she somehow finds time to lead her friends through endless adventures. Jade, who is voiced by Soleil Moon Frye of Punky Brewster fame, is the risk taking fashion editor who is always ready to try new things and start new trends. Yasmin is the voice of caring for the cast of the Bratz TV show. She is the Bratz Magazine features writer who is always looking for a social problem that she can lend a voice to. Finally, Sasha is the hip-hop loving music editor who has connections in all the right places to get scoop after scoop on the music and party scenes.

Of course, like any good cartoon, the Bratz TV show has a villain (three, in fact.) Burdine Maxwell is the editor of Your Thing Magazine, which is a rival of the Bratz Magazine crew. She always has some underhanded scheme to try to gain an advantage, using her twin interns Kristee and Kaycee (less than affectionately known as the Tweevils, as in evil twins) as pawns in her plans. Despite their adversaries, the girls of the Bratz TV show manage to have fun, succeed with their magazine, and maybe learn (and teach) a few lessons along the way.
