More Than Just Dolls for the Bratz Rock Angels
The Bratz Rock Angels have made a big splash on the toy scene, as a collection of fashion dolls and accessories. This collection has been popular with girls, as it gives the Bratz pack a harder, punkier edge than they normally have. Of course, this popularity has opened up the collection to add more than just fashion dolls and accessories. The Bratz have taken a step into the multimedia world with the Bratz Rock Angels, releasing a number of extra products that take the toy line's popularity into whole new fields.
The first new step for the collection is a Bratz Rock Angels movie. This computer animated adventure stars Cloe, Jade, Yasmin, and Sasha, four of the characters which pop up throughout the Bratz line in the various collections and also (as would be expected) the four stars of the Rock Angels collection. The four girls decide to start Bratz Magazine, a fashion and social magazine for teens, which they know is destined to be the hottest teen magazine in the world. There is just one problem: they need a great story before they can have a great magazine! So, they set out across the pond to London, England to cover the biggest concert of the year, a sure fire way to make their magazine's first issue a sell out smash hit.
When they arrive, though, they run into a little interference from another magazine, Your Thing Magazine, and its shady editor-in-chief, Burdine Maxwell. Burdine and her "Tweevils" (a clever combination of "evil" and "twins") Kaycee and Kirstee swipe the Bratz girls concert tickets, leaving them without any way to get into the concert, and thusly without a story for their magazine’s first issue. Just in the nick of time, though, they find a solution: if you cannot attend the concert, be the concert! And so, with some quick thinking and some even quicker shopping, the Bratz Rock Angels are born. Their great performance at the concert (after picking up a fifth member, Roxxi,) guarantees them a great first issue for Bratz Magazine, not to mention a sweet record deal.
The soundtrack for the Bratz Rock Angels movie is available, showcasing thirteen Bratz songs in their trademark pop-rock style. A video game has also been released, following the storyline of the movie. This game allows players to travel through the world of Bratz, collecting items and completing quests along the way. Each of the four playable Bratz girls can be customized by changing their outfits and hair for a nearly infinite number of different looks throughout the game. Players go on shopping sprees to find new fashions, as well as snapping photos and gathering stories, then creating t-shirts, posters, and putting together a group image for the Bratz Rock Angels. As you can see, the Bratz line has grown quite a bit beyond its original toy roots, releasing new and exciting additions in these new markets of multimedia. With these and other Bratz movies and games hitting shelves and homes everywhere, perhaps we will be seeing more of a focus on multimedia markets in the future for Bratz.
